This romantic capital city has drawn me in many times. I'll give you an overview of the ins and outs of this cozy, cultural city.
My Vienna Page should provide you with a guide to the main sites as well as the overlooked treasures of this fabulous city. I lived here for about 18 cumulative months and was still unable to see all the sights! Whether you are here for 2 days or 2 years, you must realize that you will not be able to see it all. All you can hope for is to gain a sense of the beauty, culture, and history of this former capital city of the Habsburg Empire. Vienna is the city of my dreams (oops, I stole this quote from Beethoven).
In my travelogue section, you'll find info on where to shop, the beautiful palaces of Vienna, some interesting museums, and online-works by my favourite painter, Gustav Klimt.
FYI: all my prices here are mixed up between schillings and euros. Write to the Vienna Tourist board and they will send you up-to-date prices. Also, accept my sincere apologies for the poor English - I wrote most of this after being immersed in German for over a year. |
