At Least Do This: The NATIONAL REGISTRY OF FIREARMS (RENAR) informs, replying to various inquiries, that no changes have been made in the legal policies that regulate the transitory introduction of hunting firearms hold by foreign citizens arriving at Argentina, which effects have not been modified since 1975.

The only modification lately achieved was formal and consists in updating the "TECHNICAL FORM" that must be filled by the tourists that travel with their own firearms, with the only purpose to be adapted to the specific requirements of the database system that will operate soon.

Related to the consulate previous authorization at the departure check in point, required by various civil airlines, mentioned request has not basis, cause the legal policy on that subject, specifically foresees the possibility of transitory introduction of hunting firearms without the consulate previous authorization, in which circumstance the Police authority that takes part will give the applicable temporary authorization and temporary possess permit during the stay in the country.

As a final point it is informed that the authorities of ARGENTINE AERONAUTIC POLICE (PAN), NATIONAL GENDARMERY (GENDARMERÍA NACIONAL) and ARGENTINE COAST GUARD (PREFECTURA), which have the specific competency on that subject, will assist -obviously, always subject to the legal regulations- on the procedures corresponding to the introduction and traffic of the hunter tourists through the national territory, duly authorized for that proposal.

We just got back from BA. We finished our cruise there and spent an extra 5 days. We really loved the city. We would love to go back for a couple of weeks.
