On my first trip west, after getting all the way to the pacific @Venice Beach and heading east again, I decided to stay with some friends and get a job in the town of Flagstaff. I got a job in the mail room of the Daily Sun, Flag's newspaper, and spent a few crowded months in a house with too many rowdy punks. The best is when Gary found a crate of sliced golfballs and we started and era of indoor put-put. Not so good for the windows, but Hey, my name wasn't on the lease. I took off when the snows started to come (Flag is at around 7,000 ft.), but I always had fond memories of my time in Flagstaff. The greenery appealed to me far more than the majority of flat arid Arizona. |
