Conquistando la Costa del Sol

by Malecka - last update: Mar 4, 2004

Maria, at the bar...
Ok, I will leave whatever it is I have written when I first went to Spain... But this page needs an up-date, a serious one.
WARNING: The contents of the pages I made about the places in Spain ARE SERIOUSLY INTOXICATED with my "spanish-fetish"... So, yes, they are VERY subjective. Then again, isn't everything we express?
February 2004 I made a second trip to Spain, and if we are to follow the famous: Whatever happened once, doesn't necessarilly mean it will happen again. If something happened twice, there sure will be a third time... I'll be there AGAIN, SOON.
:-))))
I love the energy of the spanish people, I love the diversity (for example it is a totally different thing to experience Catalunya, from the moments spent in Andalucia), I love the music (well, not all of it, but a huge "chunk"), I am totally addicted to the wine (Rioja, Crianza - thank you), and el castellano rocks my world...

(my very frist lines about the spanish flavour in my life)
Por fin fui a España! The four-week experience in the gorgeous country is impossible to be described in any language, using any kind of expression, but I’ll try to give some shape to my impressions anyway…
I spent most of the time in Andalucía, the southern part of Spain, the very essence of Spanish culture, a place full of life, rich flavors, sounds of flamenco, and fantastic beaches…

Wherever I decide to go, I never feel like a typical tourist because of my own way of traveling and getting to know one place. This time was no exception. In fact, I literally adjusted to the everyday life in Málaga, thus making this place my “home”. My home.
And if you happen to be there at the beginning of August, then you’ll have the incredible chance to see the FERIA de Málaga – the most wonderful “crazyness” on the streets, outrageous atmosphere, lots of music, lots of dancing and drinking, also. :-)
a patio in Churriana

The CUTEST patio in Andalucia...

No, this is not Claudine and Pierre's photo - this is MY own. But... yes, of their patio.
So... long live internet and VT, and the communication here. Because of that I got to spend 2,5 days (remember, quality, not quantity) with Claudine and Pierre aka cbeaujean at Virtual Tourist.
MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS!
