Beware of fake agencies.

I Knew this had happend in some cases, and even supposly good ones, try to cheat you as much as possible (I had own experience on that) but I saw this one newspaper, and wnated to warm all you that plan to retire in this great area.

British couple take estate agents to court for not giving them the house they bought

Eight months ago Denise Van Rosse and her husband paid the real estate agency Grupo SM 126,000 euros for their dream home in the village of Comares, a property they have never been able to occupy. Their case is now in the hands of a Malaga court.

The couple decided to take legal action and the case, in which the real estate firm, located in the city’s Calle Molina Larios, is accused of misappropriation and possible fraud, is now in the hands of a Malaga court. This is not the first lawsuit against the company. SUR discovered that in October last year another foreign citizen took the estate agency to court under similar circumstances. In that case the plaintiff had handed over 91,000 euros for a country house in Cártama, of which he never became the owner. According to lawyer José Luis Rodríguez, his client waited a year “during which time he was fed excuses”, until he finally took the matter to court. “It was then that the estate agency gave him his money back”, informed the lawyer, who added that his client had still not decided whether or not to drop the case.

SUR attempted to find out the version offered by the estate agents, but their lawyer, Sánchez Molina, refused to comment on the subject, arguing that as legal proceedings were under way this was not a good time to make a statement.
