with a 2000 years old boat!
Favorite thing: They founded a wooden boat form the times of Jesus (after the try of the Carbon and some remains they founded with it), well at least they do not promote as Jesus boat, but say why not dream thinking this could be one of them
You pay a huge amount of money to see it, but... well I never see a boat 2000 years old before !!!!
Fondest memory: The Yigal Allon Center
Kibbutz Ginosar 14980 Israel
Favorite thing: At the north part of the Sea of Galilee is the remains of this Synagogue
It is said to be built over the remains of the original one where Jesus preached sermons and also the house of Peter.
You will find the remains of a synagogue and mosaics from a fifth-century chapel.
Remember you have to wear modest clothes (I wonder what that means really) not posh ones? ;-)
Try to get with you always something so you do not show some areas of your body, specially if you are a women, seems that men’s legs are not so exciting
Favorite thing: The name is the Monastery of Saint Apostles, a lovely church, when we arrived a bus full of tourists, entered, so we decided to stay outside, and do some photos. Relaxing next to the sea.
Coming from the north, is the first sign you find
see mum, I did it ;-)
Favorite thing: My mother asked only for water of the Jordan, so here we are mum, as promised, your bottle of Jordan River water ;-) mums!!!! lol
At South Golan Heights, you can enjoy the Rrive Jordan flowing into the Galilee Sea, and also visit all the area around the Lake, lots of religious places, and other of tourist interest.
We spent another great day along the area.
Next time I while try to visit the roman ruins around that we did miss in our last trip and allow more time for the churches. Maybe I am not much religious but historically as Christian they were of interest…. Next time …
Favorite thing: This was our last visit during that day.
There is here a observation point.
The Hebrew name is Tel Abu-Nida, basically is an Israeli military position, overlooking the Syrian Golan heights.
From the top you can see all the north borders, and incredible views.
You are not allowed to do many photos on this area.
Also you can receive phone calls from Vt friends while being there overlooking 3 countries at the same time ....
Favorite thing: We were on the road lost, when we saw it, we decided to look around, but it was closed by that time, at least we were able to have a picture, this fortress from the Crusade times, looked incredible on the top of the hill.
Nest time for sure I will stop there with more time.
Favorite thing: That night we slept on Rosh Pinna this little house was wonderful.
In the morning after a relaxing breakfast at the porches, we went to the north to visit some natural parks over there, we first stopped on this stream, and did the walking over 2-3 hours over the stream.
Just lovely, the idea of the desert Israel, that we all have on mind, just disappeared from my head.
This water flows to the river Jordan
Favorite thing: We spent most of the day driving through this area.
This is a mountainous region in the north of Israel.
The borders are the Mount Hermon at the North, the Yarmukh Valley in the south, the Rukd River in the east and the Hula Valley and Sea of Galilee in the west.
Favorite thing: After lunch, we took the road to the border with Lebanon, where these grottoes are.
I had seen before some photos, but what we saw, deserved a visit by sure!
This cliff on the beach (of chalk) on the border between Israel and Lebanon has a labyrinthine of grottoes made by the erosion of the water waves.
There are many histories around this area.
Try to avoid the military area on the top, and read the signs of no photos allowed ; - )
Favorite thing: At the North of Haifa, on the Mediterranean coast, is this city.
A town known since the crusaders times, and by the Exodus boat.
Visit the ancient port, and the Ciudadela
After the Gardens of Haifa, we took the road north to Akko.
Sharon recommended us: Stace (Beach_dog) and me, this place for lunch nest to the lighthouse.
What an incredible place, after lunch we walked around the walls, and of course did some photos, what do you expect from 3 vt´rs together??? ; - )
