Till the XV century Cabo de São Vicente was consider as the Finisterre of the south, where the land ended and began the storms, mystery and darkness.
Romans already used to call it Promontorium Sacrum, showing us that this point has fascinated many before us…. :-)

|  | the fortress If you got to Algarve, there is a place you should not miss, the Cape St Vincent that is the most southerly western point of Europe at Sagres.
It is a perfect day trip.
