Great landscape, sea and mountains

by Carmela71 - last update: Jan 26, 2004

I had visited Barbate and know about this city since my university years at Cadiz, as many were from the area.

Barbate is a very well know fishing port, with an interesting future for the tourism. But also is the famous site of the battle of Trafalgar. (yeah Stace can not stop talking about the famous battle lol)

But it has been in the last trip where I had discovered that that Zahara de los Atunes is a PEDANIA of Barbate, also Caños de Meca, Traflagar and Zahora ... a big village really.

Incredible beaches

But the most spectacular without any doubt it is its Beaches, landscapes and natural parks. These are some of them:

Some of my favorites beaches are: Ca?os de Meca, El Carmen, El Palmar – Zahora and Zahara de los Atunes

Remember we are talking of more than 20 km of beaches ... and most of them totally empty even of Summer

Some webs to find more information about Barbate are the following

www.barbate.net
www.barbate.to
www.tobarbate.com

Natural Parks

Parque Natural La Breña and Marismas de Barbate

The first part is at the right side of Barbate coming from Zahara de los Atunes, and the marismas is the part over the sea .

There are lots of paths for hiking and biking
