  • Bullfighting is a very popular tradition in Spain, especially in Madrid.

The best places to see a "corrida" is here and in Sevilla at "Maestranza"

Again if you think bullfighting is cruel
or you do not like it...
you do not have to go.....
    but let other countries
    to keep their uses....

    I am spanish
    I do not like bullfighting
But I understnad it as part of a culture ...

  • The 31st of December of each year... all spanish people is pending of this clock.....

We have the tradition to eat one grape with each of the 12 clock?s strokes, if you are able to finish the twelve grapes before the last stroke you will have good luck in the following months.

Mos of the people meet in this square for the moment... but by own experience, if you really want this to happend... do not go to a busy square wher eyou can not here the clock strokes lol ...

It has happened to me twice, on the 2000 here in plaza del sol, and this year on Marbella, at plaza de los Naranjos, where the discjokey was drunk and did not advice the rest of the people lol

But I have to admit something .... this year I know my wish is going to be true.. as there are lots of chances that it will happend....

    Keep fingers crosseddddddd!!!

    UPDATES It became true ......

  • At Sunday mornings at Plaza Mayor you can find this market, here you can see people changing, buying and selling, mainly stamps and coins, but also magic cards, and any kind of collection you can imagine.

This and the rastro on Sundays are something on my memories of Madrid since I was a child!

  • On Sunday mornings.

Now is more a flea market, but I remember when I was a child to come here, and see the most incredible old things being sold here. Like in Carboot sales...

Still if you go off the main street, you can find some little streets with the old charm, but prices lol are not so good!!!

    Metro Station La Latina

  • At the ground of the Casa de Correos, at Plaza del Sol, you an find this tinny sign.

This is the KM 0 of Spain, from here all distances of Roads are calculated and the numbers of the streets

People expect a bigger sign and I have to say that it needs a little reparations, as some areas the paint is even not visible.

This is one of the symbols of Madrid, at Calle Carmen (hehehe always I can find a street with my name around Spain lol)

Ah!! I forgot, here you can see all the shopping area, Calle Carmen, Calle Preciados....

  • This is another emblematic sculture of Madrid. This king was also called the Mayor of Madrid for all the good things he did to this city.

  • At the Plaza Mayor, sit in any of the terraces, relax or try a 'barquillo' ... umm delicious ...

I have also seen these men at the Retiro Park.

My first memories about the barquillos are from Bilbao from Parque Maria Luisa, if I was a good girl, I used to get one (so I wonder why I did not had many lol). But when we used to go to Madrid, I always used to get one.
