Salamanca Queen of the Universities & Tunas & Nigh

by Carmela71 - last update: Jun 18, 2003

During last summer I had the oportunity to visit again Salamanca, that with Granada is one of my favorite cities in Spain, because the culture and atmosphere. you will find in this pages photos from 1964 when my mother visited when she was younger (a long time ago, hahaha, she will kill me now!). I hope you enjoy it, at least as much as me!! (if that is possible hahahaha)

Salamanca recognized as a World Heritage City for its singular historical, architectural, and cultural values, it will be one of the european Capitals for Culture in 2002.

Salamanca is the home of one of the oldest universities of Europe,so is well known for its outstanding nightlife.

brilla tu Universidad.

Salamanca looks absolutely beautiful and I can see why it is one of your favourites. Looks like another place to put on our "must see" in Spain list. LOL. Lori.

I adore Salamanca - one of my favorite cities! The Tuna lyrics you have bring back memories of swooning over the Tuna de Medicina... I also loved the nightlife, the Spanish courses & dance class, the people I met, the shows I saw, and well, everything!

Even though I only spent a couple of hours in Salamanca, I thought it was a beautiful city and it seemed very "Spanish."
