I suppose Arad is not in your mind, when you think in destinatios around Israel to stop, maybe staying in any of the hotels of En Boqeq to enjoy the Dead Sea, but not stopping in Arad.

The main reason to stop there, was visiting our internet friends Martin_S and family (now I would skip the word internet, to call them friends) ... ;-)

And we enjoyed visitng with them some areas around.

I have thanks him and his family in several ocasions on my apges. But I have to do it again, not only for your hospitality, or you guided ... mainly for your friendship

Arad

The city is on a plateau at 620 meters over the sea level (so coming from the Dead sea you drive up more than 1100 meter s)

It is 39 km from the Dead Sea

Originally it was inhabited by Canaanites.
