"Day 3: Excursion around the Sea of... " a Lake Tiberias Travel Page by Carmela71

The Sea of Galilee, known to Israelis as Lake Kinneret or Lake Tiberias and in arabic Buhayrat Tabariya.

At the Bible the Sea of Galilee is mentioned by 3 other names:

1. The Sea of Kinnereth (or Chinnereth), from its harp-like shape.
2. The Sea of Tiberias.
3. The Lake of Gennesareth.

Most of the activities of Jesus, took place, in this area (not much a religious travel person but as avid reader of any novel or hisotrical fact, I had to take in mind this part of the history).

From the fishermen of the Sea of Galilee came at least four of The Twelve Apostles - Peter, Andrew, James and John. And more and more facts of the Bible took place over here.

You shoudl visit Capernaum (home to at least 5 disciples), the Church of the Beatitudes (where it was supposed to happend the Sermon of the Mount) and Tabgha (where supposly Jesus did the multiplication of fish and bread, but also known by the wonderful mosaics).
