Loking for D’Artagnan.....

by Carmela71 - last update: Oct 1, 2008

It has been said lots about this city, not only here in VT so please be patient with me

I only hope my tips are useful for you all travellers (or tourists I do not mind lol) I am both depending the occasions

There are many great pages here on VT about Paris and I got lots of useful information here on pages and in forums to organise ours.

If you want a good laugh go to Beret’s page about Paris.... lol blahblahblah...

Eiffel Tower
For some Paris is the city of Romance and love, for others is the city related to many films in our life and I can go on.

But for me is the place where my favourite fiction book had place, you may wonder which one ..lol ... well I may not be very original but it is "Three Musketeers" and the following books of the serie "Twenty Years After" and "The Vicomte Bragelonne "

"All for one, one for all, that is our device." (from The Three Musketeers)

The Count of Monte Cristo ... I had forgotten how may times I have read this book, seen in films (still prefer the book). The first time I was 16 ...

The Man in the Iron Mask based on the legend of Louis XIV's twin brother. We will always have to decide what to believe .... what we read on dictionaries or what we can read in his novels... I prefer the second option lol ;-)

Victor Hugo with The Hunchback of Notre Dame (yes I saw Quasimode at the top hehehe .... poor Stace he scared everyone over there lol) and Les Misérables.

Balzac with Father Goriot, Eugenie Grandet and more ...

Nana, Therese Raquin or Germinal by Zola ....

And I can go on for ages lol

Birthday boy
And of course, even if it was planned in les than a week, we got to know that some of our friend would be there that weekend too, so as usual another of our trips included a VT meeting (not sure when is a VT meeting or just meeting good friends… where is the line?)

We celebrated Christian’s birthday aka le Sibarite aka Christian.Lafont with his friends and some other special people lol as Rochelle aka Geisha_Girl and Yelenna aka shpynka. Just a great day. Thanks to all you!

Aaahh yes---so many cities that never sleep! We've done Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Marbella....so naturally NYC should be next on the list! ;-) Tell Salsa_Girl I need my all night dancing partner there!
