Hi and welcome to my Greece Page. For the moment this will be my Greek Islands page. Please see separate pages for Athens and Ioannina ( to be added later )

The Greek Islands are fabled and much vaunted. I visited Naxos and Santorini this year and greatly enjoyed my stays ! I highly recommend these two Islands. There are many more to see and I plan to visit Crete, Corfu and Zakinthos in 2002. The Greek Islands are grouped into 6 main groups, the Ioanian Islands, the Cyclades,the Peloponnese, the Dodecanese ,the Argo- Saronic and the Aegean Islands. Only 48 out of over 1,400 of the Islands are inhabited.

Greek Island hopping is an institution and with good reason. The Med sea is calm most of the time, the water an incredible deep blue, Ferry trips are generally bargains and a good way to meet people. Your money still goes far in Greece, it is possible to have a good time on a modest budget ( US 35, GB 25/ day ) and live well for a reasonable amount ( US 50,GBP 35 per day ) Enjoy !
