Flying Icelandair has its advantages. At the very least, it splits the trip into 2 shorter flights, with a place for stretching, walking around, & duty free shopping. If you take advantage of a longer stop-over, you'll discover a unique land and people. My wife and I have had the pleasure of using the long stop-over on 2 occassions. In 2000 we spent a night near Keflavik (location of the International Airport)and this year opted for 3 nights and a car rental <i>(that's our route in blue)</i>. Managed to see 3 'major' tourist sites and do a little shopping and swimming also. |
