Restaurant Name: Stubbe's Haring stand
The fact that it's in the midst of the tourist area, should be a warning. I've had the herring at a couple different stands, this wasn't the best. At its best, it's kinda' like sushi; at its less than best, it's just plain 'fishy'.
Favorite Dish: We had the herring with onions; they've got more to choose from though. I'd probably suggest trying something cooked.

Royal Thai: Had a traditional Thai dinner...

Had a traditional Thai dinner near the Leidseplein at the Royal Thai Restaurant Very nice atmosphere and clean. Service was good (for A'dam anyway}, and not too expensive.
Favorite Dish: I had the spicy dish but couldn't tell you what it was called. We all enjoyed our meals though.

Cafe Hans en Grietje, just a nice little cafe with outside tables and a wonderful view. Nice corner location with canals, pedestrian areas, and a view of the Rijksmuseum.
Favorite Dish: Can't even remember, but they have a basic menu with wine/beer/spirits.

Restaurant Name: Hard Rock Cafe
Hey, it's a Hard Rock Cafe - basically the same food as all the others. They've marketed themselves real well though. They have my wife all wrapped up in collecting shot glasses, and you can't forget the t-shirts, tank tops, etc. My wife broke our shotglass from the Amsterdam HRC, so I made this last solo trip just to pick up a replacement (LOL).
Favorite Dish: All the food is generally good.
