It's beginning to feel like a 2nd home... First visited Amsterdam for a week in 1981 as a 23 year old taking Freddy Laker up on what was remarkably low round trip air fares at the time. After spending a couple weeks in England with friends, Amsterdam was my first stop on the Continent, in what turned out to be a 4+ month romp through Western Europe and Morrocco.
Finally got to return in 2000 with my wife, and it was every bit as wonderful as my first visit. Heck, enjoyed it so much we brought friends with us in 2001!
Singapore Air made it possible for my June 2003 trip, a solo trip full of what Amsterdam is infamous for - and some bike riding too. |
|  | 2005 visit & Channels 10th Anniversary Party Returned in April 2005 with the wife and daughter. One of my best visits yet, but could be because of the large contingent of members from the channels.nl forums coming for a 10 year anniversary party, and a 36 mile bike ride with the daughter. |
More visits Back again in '06! Had a great time, as always.
Stayed in a friends houseboat on the Korte Prinsengracht and it felt almost like we were living there.
Damn too short of a visit once again!
Brought a younger couple with us, I think they've caught the 'traveling bug' now too.
Queens Day '08!!! Spent the week leading up to Queens Day this year, and what a blast that turned out to be!!
