Intro My plan was to spend 5-6 mornings leisurely bicycling around Samoa's biggest island, Savai'i, staying at beachfront fales and spending the afternoons snorkelling and the evenings drinking Samoa's own Vailima beer.
As this was an area that I have never travelled in before, research was required, my initial planning consisted of poring over maps and seeking out samoan web resources. I found the Lonely Planets' Thorn Tree Travellers Forum to be a wealth of travel information and useful advice from people who have been there recently.
I knew the daily distances fale to fale wouldn't be a too much of a problem but I wasn't sure how I was going to cope with the 30C + heat and crazy dogs. I guess I'd just have to go there to find out.... |
