From Interlaken it was a short walk to Wilderwil and a train ride to Grindelwald to start our adventures in the mountains. Grindelwald was a special place for Steff, she used to come here as a child for family holidays, the mountains are the same but the village seemed bigger than she remembered. There are shops and restaurants aplenty here and they seem to attract a lot of tourists, its a good place to rest before you head up into the high parts. |
| | Typical Gridelwald archtechture. The chocolate box buildings were everywhere. Large wooden structures, usually hotels, look closely and you will see a cow on the balcony of this one. |
| | Childhood memories. Steff came here for family holidays many years ago and remembered going up the hill and inside a glasier, she was very pleased that the ice was still there all these years later. |
