"The best city on earth for quality of life." Melbourne by Steve-H

We arrived early & in a state of flux, rented a camper van and headed for Elstenwick to visit our good friend Amanda, it was early evening by the time we found her house and we were camped in the drive way cooking dinner when she got home from work. We owe Amanda a lot, she was our best man/ring bearer/bridesmaid etc, see my Whitsunday Island and Airlie Beach pages for details..
It was tiring but worth it, the gateway to the Great Ocean Road lay before us and we relished the challenge. It`s always fun arriving in a new country and trying to find you`re way around and the city of Melbourne was everything we we expected it to be. We had some great times here (thanks Amanda & Pat ) we also started our journey south down the Napean Highway to Sorrento and the ferry that would take us to Queenscliffe and the best drive i have ever had (in a car/camper van)

• Pros:Voted the best city on earth for quality of life.
• Cons:over zealous parking attendants
• In a nutshell:Well worth a visit just for a night out in the cosmopolitan city centre.
