    Fondest Memory: To see what's on for the week, grab the Metro Times which is Detroit's free news/entertainment newspaper and the local version of The Village Voice or Timeout. The Metro Times is available at many of the local restaurants, clubs, boutiques, etc. Gay/lesbian visitors will want to pick up the free paper Between the Lines for similar 'what's on' events which is often sitting in stores next to the Metro Times. Visitors can purchase advance tickets for events through Ticketmaster. To check for events online, visit www.metrotimes.com, www.pridesource.com (Between the Lines) or www.ticketmaster.com

    • Favorite Thing: Expect the unexpected. In 1997, Detroit native Wyland painted the 'Whale Tower' mural on the back of the Broderick Tower at 10 Witherall in Detroit. The mural is number 76 in a series of 100 proposed mural projects in Canada, Japan, Australia, Mexico, France and New Zealand. The Detroit mural measures 65' by 180'.
