About one hour west of Detroit, Ann Arbor is a beautiful town with a European flair nestled around the home of the University of Michigan, one of America's great colleges. It's also a Bohemian community that's the home of the annual Hash Bash to legalize marijuana, the annual Naked Run, a well-organized gay/lesbian community and an attitude that embraces diversity. One of the annual events is the Ann Arbor Art Festival in July which is one of the largest open air art festivals in the country. Hundreds of artists throughout the country sell their work from stalls on the streets of downtown Ann Arbor. In the above photo, Erik the Flutemaker demonstrates his double wood flute.
