Hi, thanks for visiting. I discovered this website in 2001. Its a great place to find out more about the world in the eyes of real travellers.
I consider myself privileged to have the opportunity to travel, and see the places I see. There are many people this world that will never get chance to travel outside of their own village or town, yet we are all priviledged enough to travel by plane, train, bus or our own car. However, you have to ask the question; are we the lucky ones?
I have developed an interest in environmental conservation through my travels, having participated in various conservation expeditions, and worked in the industry for a number of years. I would encourage people do the same if you have the time.
If you would like to find out more about how you might be able to participate in conservation or humanitarian efforts, even just a little bit of your spare time, and get a unique travel experience out of it, you can contact me or visit www.gviaustralia.com.
You might also like to consider looking at the following website www.climatecare.org - helping you help the climate.
I would say that my favourite places so far have been
Australia - spent a year backpacking around the east coast in 1997. Now my new home in the state of Victoria
Replublic of Vanuatu - so unlike any other country
Mauritius - my wedding :)
South Africa - personal experiences with South Africa's endangered wildlife.
Egypt - Bedouin culure, the history and the diving
Cambodia - The Angkor Temples, untouched beaches, and amazing people.
I'd love to visit Madagascar and Papua New Guinea in the not too distant future, but there are so of course so many other places in the world yet to experience
Remember to enjoy your travels, even if they are just virtual!
