Well, what can I say... Atlanta is a fairly decent place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Oh... wait a second... I do live here! The reasons to avoid this area all center around traffic conditions, which range from unbelievably bad to appalling. Visit one of my favorite sites, <a href="http://www.tardsite.com/" target="_blank"> The Atlanta Roadways Digest (TARD)</a> to see what I'm talking about.

Still, the place has a lot of Civil War history, though there isn't much left since everything from that era was pretty much burnt to the ground. For example, you'll see a sign to the effect of "Site of Such-And-Such Famous Person's House - 1864" and it'll be a vacant field or maybe a forest. There are however a lot of cannons from the war. Don't stand too close to them. Many Yanks and Confed'rates alike lost their heads this way.

Atlanta traffic is no picnic, but its not as bad as most cities. At least you guys are friendly drivers. For the most part. :)
