Lake Þingvallavatn
South of Þingvellir, the frozen tundra encroaches on an outlet of the lake called Ölfusvatnsvík. Mount Vellir lies the the southwest. The Mid-Atlantic Rift runs directly through this region, causing Iceland to move apart ever so slowly.
