The World Capital of Wine! Famous for its excellent lifestyle, Bordeaux also features some of Europe's most charming and impressive examples of 18th century architecture. Located in the heart of a region offerring countless attractions, great wines and first class cuisines. Host a lot of internaitonal events such as antiques fair, wine festivals, multi arts, women in cinema to name a few, etc.... |
| | Stone Bridge Built during the Restoration period, 26th of August, 1821, 527 yards long and supported 17 arches faced with brick. Designed by an Inspector General of the Highways Department, Claude Deschamps. It was not until May 1, 1822 that the nes brdige was open to all traffic. The Stone Bridge brought La Bastide and Bordeaux so close together that in 1865 the town received permission from the Emperor to simply annex this part of Cenon. I then became a district of the larger town without losing any of its own personality. |
