San Francisco - San Francisco

This is me and the Golden Gate Bridge back in the 1980's. I did not have the same smile on my face when I experienced a (5.2) earthquake in the middle of the night. The earth really moved for me that night but there was no injuries nor damage..but what an experience ! Earthquakes which actually cause damage are not so common, and should not put off anyone wanting to visit the wonderful city of San Francisco.

San Francisco is a wonderful place and can also be a good base to enable you to head out to other places in California.
The Golden Gate bridge must be seen and walked over. Alcatraz is definately worth a visit and hire a car and "do" the "17 mile drive".

San Francisco bay is always misty in the morning but the sun normally burns off the mist around mid day. So dont be too disapointed if the sun doesn't shine when you visit the bridge in the morning. It is worth doing this just to experience this phenonemon.
