I live in Maidenhead which is about 20 miles/30 kilometers west of the great city of London. Maidenhead is in an ideal location in the heart of the English countryside with the majestic river thames running through it. Also being close to motorways (freeways) and heathrow airport cause the property to be very high close to those of surburban London. The town and surrounding (Thames Valley) district attracts a lot of high tech industry. Berkshire is certainly worth a visit but if you looking for quaint towns and villages in the area then there are others much better than Maidenhead. In a nutshell, Maidenhead is only worth a visit if you happen to be in the area. Don't pick it out specifically. A Closeby town that is definately worth a visit is Windsor (with Windsor Castle and Eton College etc). If you wish to venture a bit further, then not far from Berkshire is Oxfordshire and Oxford is a wondeful town. The following link provides useful info on my home town :-

I used to live in M'head - remember the Sounding Arch, Boulters Lock, etc, etc, very well. Nice photos - leyle
