Leer has two big rivers: the Eems and the Leda. Therefor it is called the port of East Frisia. Many boat owners pass this little town on their way to either Germany/Scandinavia or The Netherlands. Local cuisine offers a wide variety of typical fish plates. |

| | This oughta have been a page on Wilhelmshaven......but I overestimated things a bit and the kids weren t too happy with the thought they had to be packed for quite a while in the back of the car....nor did hubby find much fun in driving the car with all that noise behind him.....so when I saw a right turn to Leer I surrendered and yelled: Go right! Fortunately it was a decision that turned out well and we all spent a very pleasant afternoon wandering round the city Leer. |
