As long as I travel, my VT pages will always be a Work in Progress. It takes time to get the photos and text up, but it's fun.
While I've done numerous repeat visits to Asia and Europe, I haven't traveled nearly as much as I would like to Africa, or the Caribbean. Pretty much have traveled throughout the US minus a handful of states.
Lived in New Jersey, Northern Virginia, Honolulu, Orlando and now I'm in Western North Carolina. I like variety you can say!

Charlotte, NC another Jan 06 Trip Why I Like VT.... Not only do I get to meet like-minded individuals, but I get to learn the most recent/current information on the places I plan to visit. I no longer buy travel guides. Why? I have contacts pretty much anywhere I want to go. Makes guides outdated the day they are published. VT is fluid and priceless. VT is as strong, and as weak, as its members. | | |

Key West for our Charity Bike Ride Why I work in Travel... because if I can't afford to travel all the time, well, hell, I might as well learn how to travel better, smarter, quicker... so I have always worked in the travel and tourism industry. For going on 18 years... Yikes. Since I was... uh... 8. Sure... 8 Years old! ; ) I've worked in hotels, F&B, travel agencies, airlines, teaching travel at unis and as a group travel sales manager. I was a humble holiday rep for a short period of time and I even have a private pilots license. (Not current, but once a pilot, you always have a tendency to 'look up!') | | |
| | Cattle coming and goings! I got me overalls! When I go to the country, I get RIGHT to work! So much to do: Plant flowers, Pull Weeds, Feed Kitties, Do Bovine Cheers, Round up rogue bulls, Feed cows plastic bags, Cook for farmers, water tiny itsy bitsy lil trees so small I need my glasses to see them.
And then there are the little offspring that pop up! Dusty Barbeque - June 06 (a boy!), his cousin Peppercorn Sauce (June 06) as well as the beautiful Katana (Sept 06), born during the VT Baltimore meet. Filet Mignon and Prime Rib are Freezer bound December - 06. Next time I see them will be in a stew or chili I figure. Circle of life!
Farm Updates
BIRTHS: Bubba the Stud is a bona fide HIT with the Lady Bovines!!!
2007 Calves: Brie May 07, Adele-Armande June 07 & Trouble Two in Aug 07.
2008 Calves: Nozella had "JR" (Bubba Jr) on Good friday (March 21) and Peppercorn had Buck (Prince Salsa) on 31 March. Little Mama had a baby heifer - "Bandit" on 16 April.
DEATHS: Katana and unnamed little calf! (Early March 08) Calf died at birth (breech) and Katana, poor young heifer, gave a valiant effort towards birthing, but alas... didn't make it.
FREEZER BOUND: Trouble and Dusty - April 7, 2008. Picked up 4 sides of beef on April 24 - 25.
SOLD: Trouble Two to Jim Church on April 19th. He was nervous but a good boy!
KEEP 'EM SEPARATED: We separated Mocha (Brie) and Cowie (Adelle Armande) from the rest because we don't want them having calves at too young an age. May 26 - Monday. |
