Like many VT members, travel is in my blood. To date, I have visited 47 of the 50 United States, 61 countries and territories, and all but one continent (Australia). I have lived in six of these countries for a year or more, and have picked up bits and pieces of several languages, including Swedish, German, Spanish, and Jamaican Patois.

Being insatiably curious about the world in which we live, travel for me is much more than moving from Point A to Point B. Rather, it is a process of continuously educating oneself by experiencing new sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and perspectives. Travel enlarges one's perspective, expands one's knowledge, and promotes tolerance and understanding. Travel also allows us to truly appreciate the familiar places we call home.

I hope you enjoy my VT travel pages. As you will quickly realize, I'm an avid birder, and many of my pages and travelogs focus on birdwatching, but I've tried to throw in enough pictures and information of general interest that they should appeal to anyone. Enjoy!
