Any visitor to northern India HAS to go to the Taj Mahal. It is, after all, one of the seven modern wonders of the world.
You hear loads about the Taj Mahal and everybody has seen the photos, so I expected to be dissapointed when confronted by the real thing .. NOT AT ALL. It's truely amazing, and in fact my Dad doesn't believe that it's still there - its so ephemeral (?).
The downside is that Agra has to be THE most polluted city in northern India. Its seriously bad, we arrived in rush hour and you couldn't see 100m in the street because of exhaust fumes (yuk).
So be aware !
