I stayed in the San Remo Hotel for a couple of days, and I enjoyed that very much. It's not a luxery place, but it is fun. The hotel is located in North Beach, not far from Fishermans Wharf. The hotel was built in 1906 and it still has an atmosphere of long-ago charm with specially selected antique furnishings. The walls of the hotel are filled with a collection of memorabilia. There are no room telephones, no televisions, and shared baths. The staff is very friendly and the price for the rooms is relatively low (For San Francisco standards), so not a bad choice if you are looking for something different than an ordinary hotel room.
Room rates : Double Occupancy, One Double Bed $75 Double Occupancy, One Double Bed with Sink $85 Single Occupancy, One Double Bed $65-$75 Single Occupancy, One Double Bed with Sink $75

roamer61 Fri Jan 13, 2006 12:26 UTC San Francisco is one of my favorite US cities. Oh, and Fishermans Wharf is by no means a trap. You can dine on the best crab legs here at reasonable prices. | Nemorino Fri Nov 25, 2005 17:17 UTC Brings back memories. I used to live just across the bay in Berkeley, where I worked for a radio station. We often did live broadcasts from Alcatraz Island while the Native American protesters were there. | BeatChick Mon Jul 4, 2005 16:48 UTC Sim, I really enjoyed reading some of your Cali pages! I was born in Oakland & it was fun reading about places familiar to me thru your eyes. BTW, my great-aunt was one of the Native Americans at Alcatraz in the '60s; I'm part Oglala Sioux. :) | matcrazy1 Fri Mar 11, 2005 14:28 UTC Great overview and beautiful shots on matcrazy0's top US city (matcrazy1 loved Seattle, too :-). |
