The St-Jan Cathedral St. Jan cathedral Review

In the middle of Den Bosch you can see the St.Jan Cathedral. The Cathedral is open for the public (outside church hours) every day from 8 o'clock until 5 o'clock in the afternoon. From the 3rd of November until Easter it is open from half past 9 until 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The entrance of the cathedral is free.<P>The next few pictures are of the interior and exterior of the cathedral, so you can have an impression what it looks like.

Next time I am going to take that boat trip again.... looking from a bridge to buildings that are built over the stream is fun, but going by boat underneath them is super!

It is also possible to make an excursion on the river. We didn't do that on this trip, but I did take a boat tour last time I visited. That was many years ago, but I remember it was real fun to do. It feels almost like a river rat going underneath the city. The guide tells you good stories about the history of the town, the buildings you go under and of course stories about the stream itself.

Not very clear Binnendieze Review

The water doesn't look very clear, but it wasn't smelly. In fact it was great to sit along the banks of river for a while, enjoying a bit of the spring sunshine and give my tired feet a little rest.

There are many houses built over the stream. A large part of the stream is underneath the city and it isn't visable.

The Binnendieze

Slowly the stream lost its importance and changed into an open sewer. In 1969 they decided to fill up the canals, but luckely they didn't complete their plans and there is something left of this beautiful stream through the city.

The centre of Den Bosch is filled with these beautiful old houses. The left part of this house is built over the river 'Binnen Dieze'.
