Singraven in Denkamp - Provincie Overijssel

A beautiful part of the Province of Overijssel is the region of Twente. And in this page is about that beautiful part of the Province. I used to live here in a village called Oldenzaal. To me this is the best part of the country to live in. Hahaha, I hope some day I can show you on this page why I feel like that. So I promise you many photos of this area on this page. But for now I want to start with the "Twents volkslied"! I am sorry it is only in Dutch, but it's a song singing about the beauty of Twente. And when I read it I think back to this part of the country that is so dear to me.

Er ligt tussen Dinkel en Regge een land
Ons schone en nijvere Twente

Op 't heerlijke landschap ons Twente (2x)

De rookwolk, die stijgt aan de horizon op
Die wijst on de nijvere steden
Met mensen arbeidzaam en degelijk, bewoond
De zetels van 't krachtige heden
Daarbuiten in boerschap op heide en veld
Daar wordt nog de sage en 't sprookje verteld
Daar rust de Tubanter in't heuvelig graf
't Verleden naast 't heden van Twente (2x)

En voert ons het lot ook uit Twente soms weg
Wij blijven het immer gedenken
Geen andere landstreek hoe schoon ze ook zij
Kan 't zelfde als Twente ons schenken
Wij drukken elkaar in de vreemde de hand
Gedenkend ons klein, maar zo dierbare land
En moge ons hart in de vreemde ook staan
Ons hart blijft toch altijd in Twente (2x)
