Blå Jungfrun is an isolated island with no resembles with close bye mainland or islands. Its unique shape , height and nature has for centuries been landmark for sailors and a “must-do” visiting point for nature lovers. In folklore this is the place “Blåkulla” where the witches went on their broomstick for the annual Easter meeting. It has got its name Jungfrun – The Virgin –to please the weather Gods making them ease the storms.

Blå Jungfrun is a small island, which you easily walk around in some hours. If you use your broomstick it might go faster :-)))))

I love the national Parks in Sweden and it is a dream of Åke and me to have visited all of them at some day. It won't be easy as not all of them are so easy to reach, but we want to give it a try anyway :-)

Daily boat tours during summer from Oskarhamn on mainland or Byxelkrok on Öland
