Norra Kvill: a small troll-forest in the county of Småland, with 2 small lakes. If you can’t see the gnomes, fairies or earth spirits you can certainly feel their presents here! The virgin forest is inhabited by hazel hen, bats, moose, foxes, and squirrels and of course with a large variety of birds. Giant old furs (more then 350 years old) covered by moss are battling with hardwood for the fertile soil in the ravines. And as it is in Småland; stones, everywhere stones, covered with moss. In other parts of Småland men has moved the stones - making room for farming - building long stonewalls guarding their lot but, here in Norra Kvill they are untouched.

I love the national Parks in Sweden and it is a dream of Åke and me to have visited all of them at some day. It won't be easy as not all of them are so easy to reach, but we want to give it a try anyway :-)

Norra Kvill is approximately 10 kilometres north of Rumskulla in Vimmerby Municipality, Kalmar County

How to get to the park:
The national park is located near the road between Vimmerby and Norra Vi, seven kilometres south of Ydrefors. A signed turn-off leads to a parking area

Size of the park: 1,1 km2

Hey there Simone! Just got interested in your Norra Kvill page. Pity you ain't been there yet. But you NEED to see the Kville oak once you get there...europe's oldest living tree! Looking forward to seeing more once you've been there too...
