These local customt tips will be about the museums in Stockholm. Of course it is hard to list all of them, but I think these are the most known ones, in and also around Stockholm. Did you know that Stockholm has one of the worlds greatest concentration of galleries and museums! So browse through this list and visited a few of them :-)

When you plan your trip to Stockholm be aware that most museums and attractions are closed on Mondays.

Vasa Museum (Vasamuseet)
World famous warship Vasa, lost 1628, salvaged 1961. One of the best well-kept warships from the 17th century. Wood carvings are fantastic! It is not only the ship, but also everything around it in the museum (like showing tools, furniture, clothes, etc) that give a complete picture of time.

Exotic animals like flesh-eating piranha, crocodiles, monkeys and many other breeds. Small but fun little zoo. All small animals from creepy to cute.

Stadshuset
Stockholms political centre. Site of the Nobel Prize banquet. Interesting architecture and lavish interior. Guided tour for some areas of the city hall, like the famous blue hall and golden hall. The tower with beautiful view is open in summer. I really enjoyed the guided tour, I can recommend in going here. But I would like to go up the tower next time :-)
