A World War Two Cruiser used in the D Day Landings, that you can walk round and get a feel of what it was actually like to be aboard a ship in cramped conditions.
You can visit all nine decks including the engine room and the Captains Bridge.
A good tip is to go down any stairs backwards because it is a lot easier.

You can walk up the towers of this beautiful bridge and look at old photos and models depicting the history of it. Once at the top of the tower you can walk across one of the walkways and see panoramic views of London both upstream and downstream of the River Thames. Once across you can descend the other tower back to earth.
Of all the times I have ever been to London I have never seen the sections of the bridge raised to allow boats to pass through. I have since seen it raised, last September 2003 we went to see David Blaine, it was raised while we were watching.
Tower Bridge is famously known as the bridge that an American had tried to buy but bought London Bridge by mistake.

The Tower has been used for several things through the years including a menagerie, a mint, a Royal Palace and a prison. The Crown Jewels are exhibited there under very tight security, as well as many other artifacts including many suits of armour. The Tower is guarded by ceremonial guards called Beefeaters. One of the Towers most famous residents are Ravens. There is a legend that says if the Ravens leave the Tower the Kingdom will fall, i think the wings have been clipped so that they can`t fly away.

Well we experienced our first flight at the hands of British Airways on Sunday 21st November 2004, the security was just like flying with a thorough searching of bags and questioning about sharp objects, even after departure from the capsule two people searched it with mirrors for hidden objects.
We bought the tickets from the ticket office in the adjacent County Hall although you can buy them in advance over the phone or on the net.

Madame Tussauds is basically a museum of waxwork models of famous people from the past and the present.
For what it is I actually think that it is very overpriced, even if the models do look very realistic.

This is a museum of the history of London transport from horse drawn vehicles upto modern day London Underground and even future modes of transport.
The museum has many bus and trains from the past that you can climb aboard and see what they were like.
One of my favourite parts of the museum is the area where you get to see what it is actually like to drive an underground train.

Things To Do: The London Marathon.

Whether you compete or just spectate the London Marathon is something not to be missed. It is England's biggest free spectator sport and can be watched at several locations round London. I have run the marathon 5 times in 1986, 87, 93, 96 and 2000 with my best time being 4hrs 30min. Along the route you see many of the sights of London and the crowds and bands always give you a boost cheering you on.
Entry for the 2005 race is now closed so it is just a matter of sitting and waiting to see if I get accepted.
Our cheques have been cashed, so hopefully that means we have been accepted.
Well unfortunately I have been rejected but Claire is still waiting to hear.

Take yourself back in time to the past and experience the sights, sounds and even smells of London.
Once you are inside the London Dungeons you would be hard pressed to know that you were really in museum underneath one of Londons busiest railway stations, apart from the odd rumbling of trains which you could quite easily mistake for distant thunder.
From the moment you join the queue you start to feel as though something strange is going to happen, as heavily made up characters walk along the queue which sometimes can reach as far as the entrance to London Bridge Station.
The first stop inside is the chopping block where you have your picture taken underneath an axe.
From there you move onto pay and buy the optional guide book.
Once all the formalities are out of the way you move into the museum proper. One of the first things you come across is somebody being sick and things don`t really get any better from there. Shortly afterwards there is a glass fronted section, most of it is dark but if you look closely there are some real rats inside.
Wicked Women is the next exhibition, charting the various evil women throughout history and their henious crimes, Anne Robinson is even included.
The next part is definately not for the squeamish, The Plague is encountered. Becareful that you don`t catch it, there are plenty of boils bursting and sneezes to pass it on, and yes more rats.
On to Pudding Lane where something`s cooking, but it isn`t something to eat it`s the street itself. The Great Fire of London started here in 1666 so the story unfolds with flames and smoke.
It`s audience participation time here where ancient torture methods are demonstrated and then judgement day in court where you could be unjustly tried and sent on the boat ride through traitors gate. (the boat ride wasn`t working when we went).
