If you were to ask me what three things spring to mind about Wimbledon I would answer, the Football team, tennis and the Wombles. In fact they are the only three things that spring to mind when I think of Wimbledon.

The football team are famous for being unfashionable and rising from non-league football to the old English First Division and winning the FA Cup against Liverpool in such a short space of time. Their most famous player has to be the movie actor Vinnie Jones.

Tennis, who hasn`t heard of the Wimbledon Championships, it is held every summer and the competition every tennis player wants to win.

The Wombles, those cute bundles of litter picking fur live in tunnels under Wimbledon Common living on our cast offs.

I saw Wimbledon play Spurs in 76-77. Think the score was 6-0 but cant remember who won!!
