The Canary Islands are one of the most popular winter destinations for Europeans due to their all the year round sun. The islands are situated off the west coast of Africa and are about a four to four and a half hour flight from England.
The main islands are made up of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerterventura and La Gomera.
Tenerife is one of the biggest and my favourite of the two that I have been to.
It is an island of contrasts, from stark barren wastelands to the lush tropical green areas, from noisy clubland to tranquil villages. |
