Hello all, welcome to Winnipeg. We freeze in the Winter, Bake in the summer, and for some strange reason, don't move away. Mostly because it's so darned cheap (they just raised the minimum price of a beer in pubs to 2.50...Canadian Dollars!), and because, well, it's home. Despite being cheap beyond belief, Winnipeggers are generally a friendly lot..after all, you have to be if you need help pushing your car out of a snow drift! This here is my Dad at the farm where I grew up in Rural Manitoba. The nearest town was 5 miles away, the nearest town with a store 7 miles away. Loved it. Let me tell you, you learn to entertain yourself when the nearest neighbours with kids your age are a 10 mile drive away...and you are 10 years old with no busses. |
