From Dahab (Egypt),we traveled across the red sea to Jordan. As with all middle eastern countries in which I have traveled, there are great people, kind hearted and generous...once I got used to the staring. The Jordaian infrastructure was markedly improved over Egypt, better facilities, and what great weather. We began our trip to Wadi Rum (where Lawrence of Arabia wa filmed) and I fell in love with the desert. Unfortunately during our stay in Wadi Rum I was still pretty drained from the food poisoning in Egypt. We headed out into the desert for a day with a bedouin guide who was a pure gentleman. I was amazed at all of the different colours of sand. The sandstone cliffs have stipes of colour running through them, purple, and red, and this bright orangy colour, and as the wind wears them away in layers, it leaves little (and sometimes big) piles of multicoloured sand all over...amazing.
