Kalallit Nunaat
this is the name of Greenland by the Inuit people of Greenland. I started to discover this country in 1998. i think its one of the most amazing places on earth to visit. So far I have visited Kulusuk and Ammassalik in the east coast and Qanaaq area in north west Greenland. Both in winter and in summer and there is a big difference between the 2 seasons in Greenaland in meaning of traveling.
The photo was taken during winter expedition in Qanaaq area togeter with Inuit hunters. We made a stop by a big iceberg stuck in frozen sea. The hour was about 22:00 and the sun was shining. |

doing some serious studying on Greenland! if the best time to visit is winter (May) then why choose August? Will it be Qanaaq or the south? these pictures are still breathtaking although I have seen them a number of times...! |
