The Reindeers Land

Ivalo is the gate to the real Lapland in northern Finland and to Finmark - the Norwegian part of Lapland in north east Norway. Here the Sami people herd their reindeers. Usually i get here while guiding snow mobiles safaris from Ivalo to the Barents sea fjords. On one of this safaris we came across a big reindeers gathering in Sevitijarvi where 2000 reindeers were brought to this special traditional Sami farm.

Arctic Speed

Snow mobiles are the best way to cross snowy frozen Lapland during winter. We cross the big frozen lake Inarijarvi on way to border with Norway. Those snow mobiles easily get to 100 Kmh. Big fun is when snow start to fall down from sky.

Farming reindeers is an old culture of Saami people, including more than just a killing..... What else did you do in my home Village Ivalo?
