The blue sea of Playa del Carmen - Ciudad del Carmen

Me, Frans and our neighbours (Sunny_Dolly and Peter) went to Mexico, Riviera Maya in October 2002. That is near Playa del Carmen (about 30 minute drive by buss). We had lovely weather and a great time. Playa is about shopping and tourism.

Really everywhere you can see art. From funny wooden people or suns or paintings. You should look up and down and everywhere when you walk at the boulevard, but dont miss what you came for the locals and all the shops !

Mexican food in Playa del Carmen

When you go to Playa or stay in the neighbourhood in a hotel, you should go to one of the little restaurants of Playa and have a real Mexican meal. Wit a Mexican beer. This is my plate and i had a real good time eating it. It was not soft outside but crispy and inside there was chicken and vegetables....hmmm... look what you have done now....I AM HUNGRY !

Pros and Cons

Pros:Wonderfull, friendly people and lots of shops
Cons:The Cruiseboat - tourists makes it all expensive !!!
In a nutshell:Go and enjoy but be ready to pay !

Hi, I am from Ciudad del Carmen, and as much as I would like it to look like playa del carmen, well it is not ; ( ... Playa de Carmen is in Quintana-Roo. glad you liked it there. ; )

I am confused; are you writing about Ciudad del Carmen (which is the heading and location of all your writings & photos) or Playa del Carmen? Playa is a very different place than Ciudad del Carmen.

Looks a brilliant place and colouful. Lovely photos. Cocktails and food near the sunbeds would make me want to visit tool.

It might have something to do with fire hazards. But I have a neighbor that uses a blower EVERY week in his yard. What an AWFUL noise!
