As I was a VERY young child when I last visited London, I can't give much up to date information. Infact I know very little of England's capital city. I have been through and skirted around it many times and have often wondered how on Earth foreign tourists who have hired a vehicle cope with all the different lanes and hundreds of vehicles, not to mention driving on the left?? The one thing I do know about though is the traffic on the M25 which is a motorway encircling the city. Having travelled this route on several occasions when visiting the surrounding areas and when heading for Gatwick airport, I cannot really recommend it to anyone who is in a great hurry to be somewhere else! The best thing about the M25 is that parking is for free in the fast lane! One day I might have the courage to visit this vast place again but for now, I am most content with my rural existence. |
