The Mirage was a favorite because of the lush gardens inside and out. The pool area was just beautiful with all the flora and waterpark. They also have a dolphin and white tiger display area which we enjoyed most.

Desert Paradise Resort: This one is not on the 'Strip' like the more popular casino/hotels. It is a 5 minute drive to the Las Vegas Blvd to the casino types with free parking. Instead of 20 minutes to get to your room from the parking garages our hotel/condo parking is next to your door and an easy 30 second walk. We had a full kitchen and our own laundryroom and VCR. Extremely clean and quiet. $89 per night Sun. thru Thurs. $129 per night Fri and Sat.

The Venetian is where I lost my money on the slots. My husband went to a motorcycle show and here I was with nothing to do. I gave it a try and lost all $10. The hotel offers gondola rides through a canal in the building and I should have been in one of those. Just helping the economy.

We were provided shuttle pickup at the airport and to the Strip. There is also a kitchen in each room and breakfast is included. The Strip hotels are convenient and elegant but this little hotel with it's pool was more than adequate. If gambling is your game go to the Hard Rock just across the street or take the shuttle to the MGM.
