Cold in August

We were lucky to have visited Alberta Canada at the end of summer of 2000. Their summer doesn't seem to last as long as where I live so of course I didn't take warm enough clothes. It felt like winter and there was snow falling in the higher elevations which is where we were. Lake Louise had 3 inches fall on September 1st and that was the day after we visited. I had always wanted to see Banff and when the fires got so bad in south and west Montana we decided to head north and into Alberta. We couldn't have picked a better place to see the mountains and glacial valleys we so enjoy. The road between Banff and Jasper had some of the most beautiful areas we had ever seen.

This is so beautiful! A dream of mine to visit the Canadian Rockies. Looks a bit like Switzerland, right? :-)
