I guess it is because I live here that I consider this Lancaster area a tourist trap. Amish are private people and do not enjoy the intrusive buses and cars that drive by them with people staring and taking pictures. Many of the businesses take advantage of the culture here and sell their goods to duplicate and represent the Amish traditions and belongings. The way to get the best price on buying a quilt is to find out who made the design you like and then talk to the individual. Sometimes the price can be half or better than what the stores are asking.
